As previously discussed A/B testing is a powerful technique
used to optimize the performance of ads. By comparing 2 different
ads at a time webmasters are able to determine which was better.
However the true power of A/B testing is only unlocked when you
carry it out on a regular basis. By doing this you will be constantly
be working on improving the performance of the ads. Remember that
even a increase of 0.5% in CTR is worth it in the long term.
Try to keep things simple when you're deciding on what change
you should make to your ads. Be systematic with your changes as
illustrated on the following diagram:
In the diagram above the top row represents the first stage in the
A/B test, the second row the second stage etc... The dark line represents
which of the 2 ads performed better and was selected for future use in
the A/B tests.
